Anyone can quote CCTV and Access Control.
Not many can design the answer.

Intervid Africa is building the future of intelligent security. We need Solutions Consultants who can walk a campus, understand what keeps its site manager awake at night, and architect the solution with AI video analytics, biometric access control and integrated security platforms.

Why this desk is different

Security isn't cameras and doors anymore. It's data. Intelligence. Prediction.

Every enterprise in the country is rethinking security and productivity, and most of the people selling it are still quoting boxes on poles. You will consult, not quote: understand each customer's sites, branches and risks, then architect solutions across our platform stack — backed by the Intervid group's twenty-year inbound engine and active customer base.

01

Sell what's next. AI video analytics, behavioural detection, LPR, biometric access control, time & attendance, and campus-scale IoT intelligence.

02

Own the relationship. Enterprise security is bought on trust, over months, not calls. Be the consultant customers phone before anything moves on their sites.

03

Move at our speed. Professional proposals out fast, follow-up that actually happens. We train the process; we expect it done.

The room you'll be in

Half sales, half engineering. Both halves have to be real.

Who you meet

Consulting engineers, IT and risk managers, facilities heads and procurement. Specification-driven buyers who ask hard questions and expect answers on the spot.

How long it takes

Months, not days. Site surveys, specifications, tender documents and phased rollouts. Patience is a technical skill here — and the deals are worth it.

What you design

Camera counts and coverage, bandwidth and retention, network and power, integration into access control and building systems. You will not be a technician — but you must be able to hold your own with ours.

What you get behind you

Inbound enquiries from the group's inbound marketing engine, in-house technicians to design with, and manufacturer training and support from the brands we partner with.

How we see the job

The future of security sales isn't AI. It's people armed with it.

Analytics can flag the intruder, read the plate and count the queue. It cannot walk a customer's site, understand why their night shift is exposed, or sit with a consulting engineer and defend a design. That work is human, and it is the work we are hiring for — people who use the technology fluently, then spend the hours it frees on the relationship and the solution.

The money

There is no ceiling. That is the design, not a slogan.

We partner — customer, consultant, company. When you solve a customer's security and productivity needs properly, everyone wins, so our goal is to empower you to earn as much as possible.

The people who do best here treat their desk like their own business. If that is how you think about your work, we should talk.

What we look for

Four things. Non-negotiable.

Drive

Self-motivated, with evidence of achievement — not titles, outcomes. This role should be your big chance, and you should be hungry for it.

Curiosity

You stay current on where security technology is going, and you have informed opinions about it.

Take Action

You start, you finish, you close loops. You bring solutions with the problems you find.

Ethics

No hiding the truth — ever. In security, integrity is the product. "I don't know, but here's how I'd find out" beats a bluff every time.

We weigh potential intelligence and aptitude over raw years of experience. A shorter track record with an exceptional written answer to our hardest-problem question will get you the same interview as a fifteen-year CV. Technical fluency can be taught; judgement and curiosity are harder to install.

Our hiring funnel

Read carefully. This is the first test.

Only candidates who follow the full process will be considered.

01

Apply using the form below by [deadline date], attaching your CV.

02

Include a written answer to this question: "Tell me about the hardest commercial problem you've ever solved. How exactly did you solve it? Describe every step."

03

In the reference field, enter the answer to this: a site runs 64 cameras, each recording continuously at 4 Mbps, and the customer wants 30 days of footage retained. How much storage do they need? Answer in terabytes, rounded to the nearest whole number, figure only. Calculator, spreadsheet or an AI model — all fine. We care that it is right, and that you reach for the right tool.

04

Shortlisted candidates complete a short written assessment and a structured interview.

05

Final-stage candidates undergo two reference checks and, given the high-trust nature of the role, an integrity assessment.

Applications that do not follow all five steps will not be considered. A four-month probation period applies.

Open roles

Three desks. Three provinces.

Same product set, same commission structure, same technical support behind you — different territory. Read the full spec, then apply once. You can name a second preference on the form.

Gauteng is our home market and the densest opportunity in the group: thousands of companies already renting our machines and phones, most of them with a security system nobody has looked at in five years. This desk is consultative and commercial — you work the installed base, run the site conversation, and bring the engineering team in where the design needs them.

What you'll own
  • A named portfolio of existing Intervid accounts plus cross-sell into the wider group customer base.
  • Site walk-throughs and risk assessments, then a specified solution — cameras, access control, monitoring.
  • Upgrade and migration work: ageing analogue estates moved onto IP, with the case made in rands.
  • Service and monitoring annuity — this desk builds a recurring book that pays every month it lives.
  • Your own pipeline hygiene in HubSpot. If it isn't in CRM, it didn't happen.
What we require
  • Two years or more in B2B sales or account management. Security or ICT experience is welcome, not required.
  • Numerate enough to build a cost and risk comparison a financial manager cannot pick apart.
  • Matric, valid driver's licence, own reliable vehicle. Field-facing across Johannesburg and Pretoria.
  • Willingness to learn the technology properly. We train the product; we cannot train the curiosity.
  • Clean written English. You will be judged on your application answer before anything else.
